Hauls materials to and from job sites on County roads. Performs preventive maintenance on trucks.


The Road & Bridge Department uses truck drivers to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks are performed during extreme temperatures during the summer and winter months. There is lifting, bending, walking, standing and climbing on equipment. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.


High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Must have a valid Texas CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Construction Crew requires a tanker endorsement "class B" license. One year experience driving a heavy truck is required.

Must have some knowledge of the following: methods, procedures, and equipment, and materials used in maintenance and construction work; basic vehicle maintenance, mechanics, and repair procedures; applicable industry safety standards, guidelines, and codes.

Work Days and Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
